Elaborate Charity Box – Contemporary Judaica

Charity [Zedaka] box, created by the artist Shuki Freiman. Jerusalem, [2nd half of 20th cent.].
Sawn and engraved silver. Marked: SF, Jerusalem, Alt-Neu, 925.
Fine box, with a handle on its back. Adorned with flowers and with floral and geometric designs. In front there is a door which can be opened, with a bird. The inscription "Zedaka" is engraved on the upper side as well as Rachel's Tomb, Absalom's Tomb, Tower of David and a general view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Four legs turned outwards, shaped as lions.
Height: 18.5 cm, width: 9 cm, depth: 7.5 cm.
