Havdalah Plate – Germany, end of the 19th century
Havdalah plate, with the inscription "Gut Voch". Germany, late 19th Century.
Porcelain (unmarked).
The center of the plate is decorated with a Star of David and a Yiddish inscription: “Gut Voch Gut Yohr” [a good week, a good year]. The margins are hand painted with the verse: "Mitzvat HaShem Bara Meirat Einayim". Some of the letters are in red. Grape vines appear as part of the decoration.
Diameter: 22.5 cm, very good condition.
