Archive of Yoachim and Shoshana Caspari

Extensive archive of documents, from the estate of Dr. Yoachim Caspari and his wife Shoshana. Zitomir, Germany and Eretz Israel, first half of the 20th century.
Dr. Yoachim Caspari (1892-1966) was born in the region of Uckermark, Germany. In 1896 his family moved to Berlin. His father was a physician. He graduated from highschool in Berlin in 1910 and started to study medicine in the University of Munich. Was drafted to the German Army as a physician in WW I; worked in the University Hospital in Berlin and in 1924 immigrated to Eretz Israel. He worked as a doctor in the "Reali" High School in Haifa and later in Hadassah in Jerusalem and Mother and Baby clinics in Jerusalem and in other cities. In the late 1920 Caspari moved to Haifa and worked there as a private pediatrician. Published a book (in German) "Das Oberbewusstsein" – "Consciousness". His wife, Shoshana Caspari, neé Bradinstein (1900-1977), native of Zitomir, nurse, worked and volunteered for many years.
The archive includes: letters and photos, personal documents, diplomas of Medical School, typewritten memoire, handwritten lists of Yoachim's studies, stock-certificates, entrance ticket to the inauguration of the university, certificates of appreciation and other items (in German and in Hebrew). Lot of approximately 260 items, size and condition varies.
