A Sketch for Colorful Ceramic Sign – Jaffa Street in Jerusalem – Ze'ev Raban

A sketch for a ceramic sign for Jaffa Street in Jerusalem, made by Ze'ev Raban. Jerusalem, [1923]. Rectangular colored sign. On a blue background the name of the street is written in Raban calligraphy in three languages, Hebrew, Arabic and English. The background is adorned with floral patterns surrounded by brown poles and two medallions with palm trees. Approximately 47X16 cm. placed in a 60X30 cm. frame (not examined outside of the frame). Good condition. Folding marks and tears to margins.
