Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz, author of Chazon Ish (1879-1954) one of the most brilliant Halacha and Jewish Philosophy authorities of our times. A great Torah scholar and hidden tzaddik. Published his first work, Chazon Ish anonymously, and from then on was known by the name of his book. After World War I, settled in Vilna. Rabbi Chaim Ozer who recognized his greatness persuaded him to become involved in guiding the Jewish people and with his immigration to Eretz Israel in 1933, sent many queries relevant to the Torah Settlement in Eretz Israel for his ruling.
