Decorated Shell Case – Rachel's Tomb and the Golden Dome
Decorated shell case. Eretz Israel, [1910s]. Engraved brass. Three medallions are engraved on the shell. The Golden Dome is engraved within one medallion with the inscription "Mosque of Omar". Within the second medallion appears Rachel's Tomb with two donkeys and in the third medallion appear a star and a flower. The medallions are encircled by two palm trees, flowers, grapes and geometric designs. Height: 27.5 cm.
