A silver denarius (Zuz), the second year of Bar Kokhba Revolt. Obv.: A bunch of grapes surrounded by paleo-Hebrew inscription שמעון (Shimon). In the margins, vestiges of Latin inscription AVG[STUS]. Rev: A palm branch (lulav) surrounded by the inscription ש[ב] לחר ישאל (year two of the freedom of Israel). The letter ר (Resh) of ישראל (Israel) is missing. 133/4 C.E. 3.23 grams, 19.5 mm, axis 12.
