A Collection of Documents - Max Reiss – Owner of a Factory in Berlin, 1936-1940
Documents folder of Max (Israel) Riess, a Jewish citizen of Berlin, owner of a factory for ties, socks and gloves (wholesaler of such products). Berlin, 1936-1940. The folder contains business and financial documents, correspondence with the tax authorities, courts and accountant as well as correspondence with customers of the second half of 1930s. The documents and the last balance sheets document the forced sale of the factory and Riess's businesses which occurred due to anti-Jewish laws. Riess was murdered in the Holocaust. Attached are copies of letters sent by e-mail during the years 2009-2010 dealing with fixing a "memorial Plaque" on the front of Riess's house in Berlin. Lot consists of more than 100 documents, folder 32 cm. General condition is good.
