Worshippers praying at the Western Wall – Print after painting by Alexandre Bida [France? About 1880] Signed on plate.
The French painter Alexandre Bida (1813-1895) visited Eretz Israel in 1859 and painted the view of the Western Wall and worshippers. It is interesting to note that the worshippers left their shoes in a pile at the side. 50X60.5 cm, sheet 70.5X96 cm. Good condition, a few stains, creases and slight tears at the margins of the sheet.
