Archive of letters and notebooks of Chidushei Torah of Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Meltzer. Poland, USA and Eretz Israel, 1930’s. Letters by his father-in-law Rabbi Tzvi Shteinman and by other personalities, as well as various photographs.
Collection includes: * Approximately twenty personal letters written by Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Meltzer to his family members, while residing in USA and Poland [where Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda served as administrator of his brother-in-law, Rabbi Aharon Kotler’s Kletzk Yeshiva]. * Notebooks of Chidushei Torah in handwriting of Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda. * Several letters by his father-in-law Rabbi Tzvi Shteinman, Rabbi of Rechovot, to his family members. * Letters from various people. * Graduation photograph of Midrashiyat No’am in Pardes Chana, year 1, 1949. * Graduation photographs of Yeshivat HaDarom in Rechovot, between years 1964 and 1970. * Additional photographs.
The Ga’on Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Meltzer (1899-1969), eldest son of the Ga’on Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, and disciple of the Alter of Novardok. Son-in-law of the Ga’on Rabbi Tzvi Shteinman (passed away in 1947), rabbi of Rechovot. Served as chief rabbi of Pardes Chana where he founded the Kletzk Yeshiva which was the basis for Midrishiyat No’am in Pardes Chana. In 1947 moved to Rechovot and succeeded his father-in-law in the rabbinate of the city, where he established Yeshivat HaDarom, and after devoting himself to the Yeshiva, resigned from the rabbinate of Rechovot and passed it on to Rabbi Elimelech Bar-Shaul, whereas he remained only in position of Av Beit Din.
