Letter by Rebbe Yitzchak of Buhuşi
Letter signed by Rebbe Yitzchak Friedman of Buhuşi, to Rabbi David Moshe Rosen Chief Rabbi of Romania. Tel Aviv, 1965.
The letter is concerning the redemption of Torah scrolls and holy objects from the estate of Ruzhin rebbes and attaining a permit to bring them from Romania to Eretz -Yisrael.
The Rebbe of Buhuşi-Shpikov, Rabbi Yitzchak Friedman (1903-1992), son of Rebbe Shalom Yosef of Shpikov and son-in-law of his uncle Rebbe Menachem Mendel of Buhuşi. From 1930, he served as Rebbe of Buhuşi and was one of the most esteemed figures among Romanian Jewry. After the Holocaust, he immigrated in 1951 and established his "beit midrash" in Tel Aviv and Bnei Brak.
Official stationary, 27.5 cm. Typewritten, with his own signature and another line written in his handwriting. Good-fair condition, file holes and a moisture stain.
