A plate with an anti-Semitic illustration, manufactured by Serreguemines. France, [end of 19th century of beginning of 20th century].
Ceramics; printing. Stamped on underside.
In the center of the plate is a colored illustration, showing a meal attended by several Jews stereotypically presented. Above the illustration is the caption "Le Blocus de Phalsbourg d'après Erckmann-Chatrian", which teaches us that the illustration is based on a tale by the French pair of authors Émile Erckmann and Alexandre Chatrian.
