Folk Art Chanukah Lamp – State of Israel

Chanukah lamp. Jerusalem, [late 1940s or early 1950s].
Sawn tin brass, engraved and beaten; copper oil-fonts.
Engraved on back panel, flanking the "shamash" is the inscription "The State of Israel". Also engraved: "These candles we kindle for the miracles and wonders" and two beaten ornaments like Stars of David, with the word Zion inside. Due to its size, we assume that the menorah was used in a public area, perhaps a synagogue. Height: 8.5 cm. width: 50 cm. length: 10 cm.
