Manifest Concerning Jewish Gold and Silver Merchants– Frankfurt, 1799

"Von wegen eines hoch-edlen und hochweisen…". [Frankfurt am Main], January 1799. German.
Edict issued by the City of Frankfurt am Main Council member forbidding "all of the city's inhabitants, amongst them the merchants of silver and gold, as well as all of the Jews" to buy silver and gold items with emblems of the kingdom. These items have to be handed to the mayor. This manifest is an update of an edict published in 1760. [1] leaf, 34 cm. Good condition. Stains, tears at margin of leaf.
