Alexander Penn – Handwritten Poem

"Shikaron", a five stanza poem, handwritten by the poet Alexander Penn (1906-1972); signed.
It seems that this is a draft for a three-stanza poem also entitled "Shikaron", composed by Penn in 1930. (See Volume I, page 92 of "The Poems", Alexander Penn). As indicated by its name, the poem bears the character of a wine-poem; against the backdrop of the city of Tel Aviv ("The city drowses like a cat…"). The cafés "Chermon" and "Sheleg Levanon" are mentioned. Signed: "Alexander Penn". Leaf 26.5x17.5 cm. Good condition. Creases and folding marks. Adhesive tape on the reverse, tears to the folding marks– no text omission.
