Silver Case for Notebook - Russia-China, 1946

Fancy desktop case for notebook. [Russia, 1940s].
Leather covered wood; cardboard; fabric; engraved silver plaque (stamped, Russian silver stamp).
Silver plaque set on case cover with engraving: fine ornamentation with a Star of David and the word "Zion" inside, engraved at the bottom is a Russian dedication: "To dear Shwartz'ke [Alex], from the Patkin family, August 28, 1946". Enclosed with the case is a small portrait photograph of a girl from the Patkin family, with her name in Russian and Chinese. The case was used by Jews from Russian origin who lived in China.
18.5x12.5 cm, various damages, tear to cardboard pocket; photograph 6x4 cm. Good condition.
