Siddur HaShalom, Moscow 1956 - Magnificent Copy with Dedication

Siddur HaShalom, year round prayers, "Edited by the Head of the Religious Community of Moscow, Rabbi Shlomoג€¦ Shleifer". Moscow, 1956. Magnificent copy with cover printed in Hebrew and Russian. On the page before the title, a handwritten dedication is written in the name of Rabbi Shlomo Shleifer from Moscow, 1957.
This siddur was published by the religious community of Moscow, under the eyes of the Communist rule who preferred that the synagogue in Moscow continue its activities for the whole world to see, but only by the elderly belonging to the old world. The siddur was printed without a Russian translation to prevent Russian youth from being attracted to Judaism. [On Page 71 an interesting censor correction is found - in Al HaNissim, "al hamilchamot" (on the wars) was erased from the copy].
On page 2, title page in Russian. On page 479, introduction in Russian. Pages 5-6, introductions on prayer and peace. Pages 7-12, learning to read and Russian transcription of the Hebrew alphabet and Hebrew vowels.
479 pages. 26 cm. Good condition. Original fabric covers.
