Letters by Rabbi Ovadia Hadaya and his son

Three letters of halachic responsa, on the laws of Stam, ketubot and teshuva (about Shabbat desecration), handwritten and signed by Rabbi Ovadia Hadaya, 1960-1962.

Rabbi Ovadia Hadaya (1890-1969), was one of the leading rabbis and mekubalim of Jerusalem. He was born in Aleppo (Halab), and immigrated to Jerusalem in 1898. He was Rosh Yeshiva of Porat Yosef in its formative years, a dayan in Jerusalem, Chief Rabbi of Petach Tikva and a member of the Beit Din HaGadol and the Council of the Chief Rabbinate. Founder and Head of Beit El Yeshiva for mekubalim in New Jerusalem, he wrote many books of halacha and aggada: Yaskil Avdi responsa, eight volumes, Deah V'Haskel on kabala, and many other books. His son Rabbi Shalom [Mordechai Chaim] Hadaya, (1926), succeeded his father as head of Beit El Yeshiva.
