Handwritten Letter and Invitation to Wedding of Rebbe of Modzitz - 1926

Handwritten letter by the Rebbe Rabbi Shual Yedidya of Modzitz to Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook. Leaf contains printed invitation to wedding of his son, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu. Kartashov, Tevet (1926).
In the letter the Rebbe writes words of praise to Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook.
The holy Rabbi Shaul Yedidya Eliezer Taub (1947-1886), son of Rabbi Yisrael of Modzitz, genius Torah scholar, known for his musical talent, composed over one thousand melodies, many of which became famous throughout the Diaspora. Served in the rabbinate in Rakov and Kartashov, and in 1929 moved to Autovetzk where he established a yeshiva. Survived the Holocaust escaping to Vilna and from there to New York. Passed away in Jerusalem on the 17th of Kislev 1948 and was the last one to be buried on The Mount of Olives during those days of war. His son, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Taub (1905- 1984), immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1936 where he established his Beit Midrash. Was among the most prominent Rebbes in Eretz Israel and member of Council of Torah Sages.
