Title page and leaf 18/1 contain stamps of Rabbi"Feivel Plaut" author of Likutei Chaver Ben Chaim. Leaves of book contain hundreds of handwritten glosses, mostly in pencil [printed in the Rambam edition of Chatam Sofer Institute].
The Ga'on Rabbi Chizkiya Feivel Plaut (1818-1895), among the greatest disciples of the Chatam Sofer, was connected to him in heart and soul. He composed the eleven volumes of Likutei Chaver Ben Chaim, in which he incorporated his Torah together with the Torah of his Rabbi the Chatam Sofer which he printed for the first time. Served as Av Beit Din of Shoran for approximately fifty years.
130, 129-130, [2] leaves; [1]; 141 leaves (separate title page for Sefer Kedusha). 41 cm. Good condition, stains. Wear on first and last leaves, scotch tape repairs. Few moth stains on inner binding. Ancient semi-leather binding, worn.
