Sermon in Handwriting of the Rishon L'Zion Rabbi Ben-Tzion Chai Uziel - Salonika, 1921

Manuscript, sermon handwritten by Rabbi Ben-Tzion Chai Uziel, Salonika, Shabbat Kalla, the 5th of Sivan 1921.
Rabbi Ben-Tzion Chai Uziel (1881-1953) was born in Jerusalem to Rabbi Yosef Refael of a family with a long lineage of Jerusalem rabbis, descendants of the Chikrei Lev. At age 20, he was appointed rabbi in the Tiferet Yerushalayim Yeshiva and in 1910, Sefardi rabbi of Yaffo. In 1921, he went to Salonika (Greece) to serve as Chief Rabbi [where he wrote this sermon], and in 1923, he returned to serve as Chief Rabbi of Tel-Aviv Yaffo. In 1939, he was in London as an emissary and representative of the Yishuv in Eretz Yisrael, and that same year was appointed as Chief Rabbi and Rishon L'Zion in Eretz Yisrael. Some of his books: Mishpetei Uziel, Michmanei Uziel, HaShofet V'HaMishpat, etc.
