154 Black and white photographs of good quality, documenting the life of Jewish communities in Tunisia and Algeria, synagogues, customs and daily life, as seen through the camera lens of Prof. Haim Zeev Hirshberg, and photographs taken by local photographers, [1950's-60's]. Most of the photographs are of Tunisia and Algeria, from the following cities: Tunisia: Tunis, Djerba and Gabes; Algeria: Algiers, Oran, Constantin, Gardaia and Tlemecen; attached at the end of the album are: 3 Photographs of the synagogue in Tehran, Persia; leaves from a booklet about the Cuchin synagogue; 7 photographs from Jaffa. Size varies, very good condition.
