Bibliothecka Ivrit – Warsaw, 1897-1905 – Complete Set

"Bibliothecka Ivrit" series (edited by Ben-Avigdor) in 50 volumes. Warsaw-Pietrekov: "Tushia", 1897-1905. Complete set, identical bindings.
The series includes selected Hebrew works by leading Hebrew poets and authors (Bialik, Tchernichovsky, Ya'akov Cohen, Shalom Ash, Steinberg, Berdichevsky, and others), as well as translations of works by Jean-Jacques Russo, Emil Zola, Heinrich Heine and more.
The series was edited by Avraham Leib Shalkovitz ("Ben Avigdor", 1867-1921), a Jewish author, writer of children's books and editor, and a pioneer publisher of Modern Hebrew literature in Eastern Europe. One of the founders of the "Achiassaf" publishing house, in 1896 he founded the "Tushia" publishing house that published hundreds of books for Hebrew readers. Ownership inscription and ink stamps of Dr. Shmuel Rappaport of Vienna appear in one of the volumes. 18cm. Most volumes are in good to very good condition. Included are two volumes from the "Bibliothecka Gedolah" series.
