Hill 24 Does Not Answer – Poster

Promotional-poster for the film "Hill 24 Does Not Answer", directed by the British director Thorold Dickinson, "Forum Film", [1955].
"The monumental unforgettable Israeli creation about the War of Independence, with Haya Hararit, who won a prize at the Cannes Film Festival for her acting in this film".
Hill 24 was the biggest film produced in Israel prior to 1955, in regards to its budget, its technical methods and the cast. It represented Israel in the Cannes Film Festival. The film tells the story of UN observers arriving at Hill 24 after a battle that took place there, to decide whether the hill will stay in the hands of Israel or the Arabs. The observers find four dead soldiers on the hill, and because one of them was holding an Israeli flag they declare that the hill belongs to Israel. Later in the film, the plot splits into four stories. The music was composed by Paul Ben Haim (see item no. 605). Other actors: Shoshana Damari, Yosef Yadin and Arik Lavie.
