Kurt Triest – Eleven Photos

Eleven photos taken by photographer Kurt Triest (1907-1985), [the 1940s]. Most are signed by the photographer on the back.

Kurt Triest was born in Nürnberg and studied Painting at the Berlin Academy of Art. In 1929 he was already running a photography studio and working as a graphic artist for various newspaper and book publishers in Germany. He moved to Eretz Israel in 1936 and became the “HaBima” theater’s photographer. Opened the “Photo-Temuna” studio with Moshe (Max) Rosenthal. He stopped taking photographs after the establishment of the State of Israel due to an allergy he developed to the chemicals used in photography labs.
