A photograph with handwritten inscription: "The Rebbe of Sokolov R' Yitzchak Zelig Morgenstern in 1940.
Rebbe Yitzchak Zelig Morgenstern (1866-Cheshvan 1940, Encyclopedia L'Chassidut pages 402-404), direct descendent of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk, Rebbe and Rosh Yeshiva in Sokolov, a member of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah and a leader of Polish Jewry before the Holocaust.
8.5X13 cm. Good condition. [The inscription is handwritten with ink smear].
