Copy of Rebbe Meir Yehudah Shapiro of Bikovsk (son of the Tzemach David of Dinov and grandson of the Bnei Yissachar). In the center of the title page is his signature. Ownership stamp of R. Naftali Horowitz, posek and dayan of Frysztak. On the endpaper is a lengthy inscription detailing the Rebbe of Bikovsk's gift of the book to R. Naftali Horowitz.


Rebbe Meir Yehudah Shapiro, Rabbi of Bikovsk (Bukowsko; 1846-1907), son of the Tzemach David of Dinov, and grandson of the Bnei Yissachar. He was the son-in-law of Rebbe Yosef Alter Hager of Radovitz, and by his second marriage of R. Yisrael of Kremenitz (son-in-law of Rebbe Chaim Hager of Kosov). He was appointed rebbe in 1874 and many Dinov Chassidim followed him. His home was open to the destitute, and he would prescribe his Chassidim medication and bring about salvations for the sick.
