On the endpaper of the second volume is a handwritten kabbalistic inscription, with an interesting header.
Rebbe Moshe Hager of Radovitz (1840-1901), author of Vayikach Moshe, son of Rebbe Yosef Alter Hager of Radovitz. Served as Rebbe in Radovitz (Rădăuți) and went on to immigrate to Eretz Israel, settling in Safed and later in Haifa, where he became one of the founders of the Ashkenazi settlement in the city.
Two volumes: [1], 100 leaves; [1], 2-164, [1] leaves. At the end of the second volume, two leaves are missing (165-166). 23.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains and wear. In the first volume, open tear to the top edge of leaf 100, affecting text. Heavy worming, affecting text. Stamps and inscriptions. New bindings, with leather spines.
