HaSgula – Five Issues

5 issues of HaSgula weekly, “dedicated to the copying of ancient manuscripts which were never printed – appear in one hundred exemplars…”, published by Rabbi Menachem Zev Butshen-Chasida. Jerusalem, [1934-1938].
2 sheets of the first booklet in different variations (Cheshvan, 1934); booklet 2 and booklet 4 (Tevet 1934), and booklet 52 (Iyar 1938). Inside the sheets, printed leaves containing letters to Rabbi David Sasson from London, notices for subscribers, list of subscribers.
Rabbi Menachem Zev Butshen-Chasida (1865-1885), an exalted Torah scholar and knowledgeable individual, left his home and business in Poland prior to the holocaust, established his residence in Jerusalem, where he spent his days deciphering and copying manuscripts and publishing the HaSgula which was distributed to approximately one hundred subscribers, over the course of 14 years. Consequently, a number of books of the Ge’onim and Rishonim on all facets of the Torah were published.
