Signed in his handwriting (in pencil) on the cardboard cover: "Menachem Mendel Rabbi of Visha".
After the death of the Rebbe of Vizhnitz, author of Ohev Yisrael, his library was distributed amongst his sons, this book fell into the possession of his son Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Byshev (Vishava). On the Vorzats page written in pen: "The portion of Rabbi Menachem Mendel". Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager – The Rebbe of Byshev (1885-1941, Encyclopedia of Chassidut, Part 3, pages 95-96), son of the Ahavat Yisrael of Vizhnitz. From 1908, he served as Rabbi of Vizhnitz and from 1921, as Rabbi of Byshev, where he established the Beit Yisrael Yeshiva. One of the leaders of Agudat Yisrael and a member of Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah.
96 leaves (missing 2 leaves in beginning of book: title page and leaf of approbations). 24 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Moth damage with damage to text. Missing binding. Another owner's inscription.
