Maamar Yom Yeshuah, sermon of Rebbe Shalom Rokeach – the Sar Shalom of Belz, in honor of Emperor Franz Joseph's survival of the assassination attempt. Lviv: M. F. Poremba, 1853. First and rare edition, printed in his lifetime.

On 18 February 1853, Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria (1830-1916) survived an assassination attempt by the Hungarian nationalist János Libényi. The event was celebrated by the Jews, who venerated the tolerant emperor. The Sar Shalom of Belz ascribed great importance to the emperor's rule, as reflected in the present sermon.
