Zohar Chai, kabbalistic and Chassidic commentary on the Zohar, by Rebbe Yitzchak Eizik Yehuda Yechiel Safrin, rabbi of Zidichov (Zhydachiv) and Komarno, author of Heichal HaBerachah. Lviv-Premishla (Przemyśl), 1875-[1880]. First edition. Four of five parts (without part V – Books Vayikra-Devarim).
Zohar Chai is an original and profound commentary on the Zohar, based on fundamentals of the teachings of the Arizal and the Baal Shem Tov.
The author, Rebbe Yitzchak Eizik Yehuda Yechiel Safrin Rabbi of Zidichov and Komarno (1806-1874), a G-dly kabbalist and leading transmitter of the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov. His books, in particular the Heichal HaBerachah commentary, are considered classic Chassidic works cherished by prominent Chassidic leaders.

Four volumes. Without vol. V – Vayikra-Devarim. Vol. I (Bereshit, part I): [4], 215 leaves. Vol. II (Bereshit, part II): [1], 216-348, 348-456, [1] leaves. Vol. III (Shemot, part I): [4], 166 leaves. Vol. IV (Shemot, part II): [1], 2-284, [3] leaves. Lacking two leaves after title page. 22.5-24 cm. Dry and brittle paper (somewhat browned in some places). Overall good-fair condition, several leaves in some volumes in fair condition. Stains, including dampstains. Tears, including minor open tears (with tears to title page), affecting text, repaired in part with paper and tape. Sellotape repairs to several leaves, affecting text. Marginal paper repairs to title page and other leaves. Stamps and handwritten inscriptions in some volumes. New bindings.
