Silver bell – Jewish engraving, Austro-Hungary, mid 19th century

Silver bell, Vienna, mid-19th Century. Engraved decorations around the rim, names engraved on the bell (of bell’s donors?): “HaKetsinim G' DeGmach [Gabbaim DeGmilut Chasadim], R. Baruch Halitsch, R. Yaakov Leib Druker, R. Zimmel Engel, R. Moshe Ken.” On the other side are additional names engraved: “The U.G. officers [Uber Gabbaim?], R. Hersh Reiss, R. Mordechai Boskovitch, R. Mordechai Kofman Perlgrund, R. Kofman Shoiaengl.”
According to the names, it appears that the bell originates from a community in the Austro-Hungarian region, possibly Moravia.
It is unknown what communal purpose the bell served, it might have been used for funerals. Two ink stamps from Vienna.
Height: 11 cm, diameter: 6.5 cm.
Weight: 149 gram.
Very good condition.
