Komarno Mishnayot – Complete Set – Lviv, 1862 – Signatures and Stamps

Six Orders of the Mishnah, with the commentaries of R. Ovadia of Bartenura and Tosafot Yom Tov, and with the Maaseh Oreg, Pnei Zaken and Atzei Eden commentaries, by Rebbe Yitzchak Eizik Yehuda Yechiel Safrin, rabbi of Zidichov (Zhydachiv) and Komarno. Lviv, 1862. First edition, second issue.
The author, Rebbe Yitzchak Eizek Yehuda Yechiel Safrin of Komarno (1806-1874), rabbi of Zidichov and Komarno, was a leading transmitter of the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov, and a close disciple of the Sar Beit HaZohar Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh of Zidichov.
Signatures and stamps.
6 volumes. Leaf 31 of final sequence of Zera'im volume included twice. Lacking leaf following title page in Mo'ed and Nezikin vols., presumably included in some copies only. Leaves 87, 105, 115 of Mo'ed vol. bound out of sequence. Without rare leaves of Tractate Avot Chapter VI in Nezikin vol. (lacking in most copies). Misfoliation.
Approx. 29 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Dampstains in some volumes. Open tears to margins of title page, final leaf and several other leaves in Mo'ed vol., repaired with paper. Open tear to title page of Nezikin vol., affecting border and text, repaired with paper. Worming to some leaves of Kodashim vol., and margins of several leaves trimmed with damage to heading. Tears to title page and other leaves of Taharot vol., affecting text. Inscriptions. Stamps. New bindings.

There were two printings of the first edition, with minor differences. The first printing was published in 1861, with the printers' device appearing on the title pages. The second printing was published in 1862, using copies of the first printing, with new title pages not including the printers' device.
