Christian edition edited by Sebastian Munster. Colophon at the end: "This book was printed after much study in Basel, in the year 1520 to the saving of the world…" ("the saving of the world" refers to the birth of Christ). Attached to the end of some of the copies are [8] leaves with Christian prayers. In this copy, which was owned by Jews (possibly even initially distributed among Jews), these leaves were omitted, apparently already during the printing.
Ancient ownership inscriptions on the binding leaves [belongs to Avraham ben Ya'akov Sherlvil", various Yiddish inscriptions].
[84] leaves. 13 cm. Fair-good condition (varying condition of leaves). Spotting, worm damages. Tears on the title page (partially detached). Remnants of stamps. Contemporary parchment binding (with damage).

Five Books of the Torah. Geneva, 1618. Printed by Kafa Ilan. Bible with vowels. Two columns to each page. Separate title pages for Nevi'im Rishonim, Nevi'im Achronim and for the Ketuvim (the five Megillot are printed after the Chumash without different title pages). The title page of Ketuvim is somewhat different and it was printed inside an ornamental frame in which is written "Printed in 613 by Kafa Ilan" [according to Shteinshneider it should be corrected to 617 (1617)]. This title page does not appear in all copies.
Ownership inscriptions and family inscriptions, of "Shmuel Zenvill ben R' zvi". Inscribed on the reverse side of title page and on the last leaf are a list of births and deaths. On the last leaf is an interesting inscription of a miracle which occurred to the writer in 1791, who was saved by a great storm which came upon him and two more Jews when they were in "a small ship in the sea".

The Kennicott Bible. Elaborate facsimile published by Facsimile Editions. Including a commentary volume. London, [1985]. Copy no. 132/500.
A facsimile of an illustrated Spanish manuscript from 1476. The manuscript was commissioned by Don Solomon de Braga twenty years before the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492. It was written by Moshe ebn Zabara and illustrated by Yosef ebn Chaim whose style was influenced by Islamic art. The manuscript contains the whole Bible together with the Radak commentary and Sefer HaMichlol. The manuscript is called the Kennicott Bible after Benjamin Kennicot (1718-1783) an English clergyman and Hebraist who acquired the manuscript for the Radcliffe Library in England.
An exceptionally beautiful facsimile which was published after five and a half years of preparation. Printed on thick paper of excellent quality especially produced to reproduce the appearance of parchment on which the original manuscript was written. The gilding of the facsimile illustrations was done by hand, by seven artists who worked continuously for four months. Bound in an exquisite leather binding.
