Mishnayot Komorna, six sections in six volumes. Includes commentary of Ma’aseh Oreg, Atzei Eden, Pnei Zaken, by the Rebbe Rabbi Yitzchak Yehudah Eizik [Saffron] of Komorna. Lemberg, 1861. Printing press of Rabbi Dov Luria and Rabbi Hirsch Sperlong. [First edition, with emblem of printers – grasped by bear and gazelle].
Admor Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Yehuda Yechiel (Safrin) Av Beit Din of Komarna (1806-1874), holy sage, nephew and prominent disciple of Admor Rabbi Zvi of Ziditchov. Loved by Chasidic leaders such as the “Chozeh [Seer] of Lublin” (who was also his matchmaker), the Apta Rebbe, Rabbi Moshe Zvi of Savaran, his uncle Rabbi Moshe of Sambir, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin and more.
Head of section 1 and section 6 contain prefaces by author; end of preface on Taharot section: “And I will copy the Tosefta… and explain it according to the foundations of the Rambam…”. This refers to Sefer Taharat HaKodesh, Zhovkva 1804, in which the commentaries and glosses of the Vilna Ga’on were printed.
Rare emblem of printers with bear and gazelle appear on all title pages, except for Seder Nezikin. It also appears on title page of Seder Taharot.
Signatures and ownership notations as well as few glosses.
Complete set: Sdarim Mo’ed and Nezikin contain [1] leaf at beginning instead of [2]. 28.5 cm. Condition of volumes varies – good to very good. Damaged bindings.
