Manuscript, Tikunei HaZohar. [Yemen], 1588. Early copy of the first edition (Mantua, 1558), copied soon after printing. The manuscript begins at the middle of the first introduction. Ancient Yemenite writing, with glosses of completions and sources by a later writer in several places in the margins. On the last leaf, after copying the concluding words of the editor of the Mantua printing is an additional colophon by the scribe of the manuscript [slightly cutoff] from "Five thousand and three hundred and forty eight of the 6th thousand" (1558). [141] leaves. Missing several leaves at the beginning of the manuscript. Approximately 20 cm. Varied condition among the leaves, good-fair. Stains, wear and tears. Tears to several leaves with damage to text. Ancient binding (made from the geniza of ancient leaves), restored with glue and fabric covering.
