1 "Dancing Notebook" with Dedication by Theodore Herzl at the age of 23 – Vienna, 1883 1. Herzl, Zionist Congressesm, JNF

Universitäts-Kränzchen, 30. Januar 1883. [Vienna], 1883. German.
"University Bouquet" – small notebook, leather bound, prepared for the participants in a students' dancing ball in Vienna on January 30, 1883.
Names of different dances were printed in the notebook. On a line under each dance name, the student signed his name when he danced with the notebook owner.
The notebook owner danced the Quadrille dance – a 17th century dance for four pairs – with Theodore Herzl who signed his full name under the dance's name and added a few words in pencil. The pencil is attached to the notebook and serves as a clasp. Herzl, born in 1860, was at the time 23 years old and studied law at the University of Vienna. One year later, in 1884, he got the degree of PhD (Law) from the University of Vienna. [1] leaves, 9.5 cm. Fair-good condition. All of the leaves are detached. Dry, acid and very fragile paper. Tears and cracks. Origin: collection of Pappenheim family (attached are copies of letters from the Central Zionist Archives in Jerusalem, confirming the receipt of original items handwritten by Herzl from the Pappenheim family).

Send by the executive board of the Zionist Organization in Vienna. Leaf 28 cm. Fair condition. Folding-marks, minor tears, stains. Pasted paper with damages to text.

Eulogy…in "Agudat Bnei Zion" synagogue…in the city of Derbent…for the loss of the Zionist Movement founder…Binyamin Ze'ev Herzl, by Naftali Ben Ya'akov Yitzchak. Berdichev, 1905.
Eulogy for Theodore Herzl. Written by Naftali Yitzchak, one of Derbent's Jews. Derbent – the third largest city in Dagestan, in the south of Russia.
A dedication appears on the leaf following the title-page "in honor of my brothers "Agudat Bnei Zion" in the city of Derbent and in honor of Eretz Israel Zionists ….". 14 pp, 16.5 cm. Good condition. Several stains. Includes original title-cover, printed on bluish paper.

Play presenting the bourgeois life style from a critical point of view. [3], 88pp, 19 cm. Good condition. Ink stamps. Binding is not original.

Two different copies of the play. Published between 1888 and 1889 as part of the series "Universal-Bibliothek" of the Philipp Reclam Jun. publishing house in Leipzig. 30, [2] pp in each copy, 15 cm. Fair-good condition. Wear and stains.

Translation into Spanish of the German origin of 1896, translated by N. Grinfeld. A cover illustrated with Herzl's portrait on the Basel Hotel balcony, by Soler Lavochnik. 112 pp, 20 cm. Good condition. Tears at borders of cover. Stains. Printed on dry and acid paper.

Bronze cast. On the rim: "Herzl", "If you will it, it is no dream", and "Jerusalem". Diameter: 8.5 cm. Two holes for hanging.

Extensive collection of items related to Herzl. Items where Herzl's name is mentioned or where his photograph appears: six booklets about Theodore Herzl, some with photographs (Eretz Israel and Zurich); about twenty calendars and photographs with Herzl's portrait, his family or sites related with Herzl, of different periods. Amongst them a certificate of Donation of Trees to JNF; about seventy envelopes, stamps, postcards, labels and several photographs of Herzl's portrait or with his name mentioned, arranged in an album. Herzl's portraits, a real-photo postcard of his and his family's graves in Vienna, Herzl's Cedar. Various printers: "J. Ben-Dov", Jerusalem; "Levanon" – Warsaw and Russia; Phönix, Berlin; "HaTechiya" – Robinsohn, Stanislawow. Two postcards were sent by mail. Two postcards are undivided. Good condition.

Report issued by the committee appointed to establish JNF (headed by Dr. David Farbstein), following the decision taken at the fifth Zionist Congress in Basel (1901). 109 pp, 21.5 cm. Fair condition. Partly detached leaves, tears and stains. Tear with omission to back cover.

Two postcards mailed from the 12th Congress (1921), and from the 16th Congress (1929), with the congress ink-stamps: *Jew holding a Torah. Illustration by Jacob Steinhardt. Rimer no. 40. * The back of a naked muscleman bending an iron bar. Rimer no. 63. On the reverse appears a handwritten inscription: "the official opening… a dry and formal ceremony with no life and no juice". Postage stamp is missing. Good condition. Minor stains and creases.

19 Letter from Zvi Hirsch Lehren – Document about the History of Safed, 1828 2. Eretz Israel, Settlements

Letter from Zvi Hirsch Lehren – head of "Administrators and Clerks" in Amsterdam. The letter was sent to the Eretz Israel trustees in Nijmegen (Holland) and to the rabbi of the city, rabbi Ya'akov Levisohn, regarding collection of donations by members of their congregation for the poor people in Eretz Israel. The Hague, 1828. There are interesting facts about the collection of donations for Eretz Israel in the different communities. The letter contains a long description of the outcomes of a plague in Safed. 17.5X21 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains and minor tears and creases.
